In keeping with the philosophy of service and the mission of Mayo Clinic for the past 100 years, we never forget that the ultimate goal of our medical research is to improve health and save lives. To make sure that our research has practical application in the real world outside our laboratories, we partner with local physicians and practitioners, community leaders, agencies, foundations and community members to learn about their needs and to work together to find answers.
Increasing the number and diversity of community members participating in clinical research and benefiting from its results
In cooperation with Mayo Health System, the Mayo Clinic CTSA is building a practice-based research network in 66 Midwest communities to promote clinical/translational research that quickly and directly impacts practices and improves health. Our Office for Diversity in Clinical Research is working with community groups and leaders to increase participation by underrepresented populations and to understand and overcome health disparities.
