The Office of Diversity in Clinical Research is committed to attracting outstanding women and minority investigators and in the development of minority and women investigators in being an advocate for recruiting these high quality individuals.
Because our demographics are changing, the ODCR is exploring establishing minority outreach recruitment teams in Jacksonville, Fl. and Scottsdale, AZ. The ODCR and an African American physician at Mayo Jacksonville are establishing a relationship with Duval County Public Health and Clinics to outreach to 10 clinics that cater to a largely minority clientele. This collaboration offers an excellent opportunity for outreach, education, and recruitment within the African American and Latino populations in Jacksonville, Fl. and will bring a better understanding of disease in these minority populations as well as improve the generalizability of our scientific findings.
