Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) Master's Degree and Certificate Programs

The Mayo Clinic Master’s degree and Certificate programs in Clinical and Translational Science train future investigators in clinical research methods. Clinician investigators will learn to translate biological and technological discoveries into improved patient care …preventing diseases, improving the rate and accuracy of diagnoses, and developing and delivering better treatments to improve quality of life.

Translation of basic biomedical discoveries depends critically upon the availablility of a highly skilled clinical research workforce. The Master’s degree and Certificate programs provide a carefully planned series of courses in clinical research methods that complement mentor-based training in the research environment. Graduates will be prepared to participate in and lead research teams in conducting effective patient-oriented research.

The program is designed to allow professionals from a variety of disciplines to customize a training program to meet their clinical research career goals. Participation in Master’s degree and Certificate programs is limited to postdoctoral Mayo Clinic staff and trainees.

In an effort to maximize the diversity of clinical researchers, underrepresented minorities may apply for a competetive scholarship through the CTS diversity program.
