The mission of the Proteomics Research Center is to provide the skills, tools and methods to foster a complete understanding of the human proteome and translate this knowledge to predict, prevent and cure human disease.
The Mayo Proteomics Research Center (MPRC) provides peptide synthesis and identification, protein purification and analysis, FPLC, 1 and 2D PAGE, amino acid analysis, differential proteomics techniques including DIGE, iTRAQ, label-free and 18O/16O differential labeling and analysis as well as small molecule analysis. The MPRC is equipped with a high-speed computing cluster and three full-time bioinformaticians/software engineers to implement novel proteomics algorithms and database searches. The MPRC also offers validation of target protein biomarkers utilizing surrogate tryptic peptides for quantification.
