Another important service offered to Mayo Clinic researchers at the Center for Translational Science Activities (CTSA) Service Center involves statistical and epidemiological advice. The aim of the center's statistical and epidemiological consultants is to enable more investigators to design, conduct and analyze their own studies. Biostatisticians and epidemiologists from the Department of Health Sciences Research answer questions regarding hypothesis formulation, study design, sample size, and choice of analysis and interpretation and publications. This is a critical service within the center as it promotes new investigator research as well as a sense of collegial learning.

Ethics consultations can help investigators develop ethics projects and assist them with complex ethical issues in research at all phases of project development.
Consultations with the statisticians and epidemiologists in the CTSA Service Center take place on the 7th floor of the Eisenberg Building. Statistical consults are available Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. by appointment. Epidemiological consults are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. by appointment.
