The mission of the Research Subject Advocate (RSA) is:
The RSA meets with selected research participants and may provide assistance with the process of informed consent. The RSA helps study teams to develop and implement their Data and Safety Monitoring Plans. The RSA is available, as is the IRB, to hear participant and staff concerns related to research studies.
The RSA facilitates a Safety and Compliance Committee (SACC) that reviews protocol activities including study related issues, concerns and events. The RSA works with many skilled and enthusiastic research teams, as well as the CTSA staff, research investigators and study coordinators, to enhance protections for research participants.
The role of the RSA is shared by all - Research subject advocacy is everyone's responsibility!
Please take advantage of the resources our CTSA Research Subject Advocacy Service provides.
